Hello friends and welcome to EP 48 of BORP. What a time to be alive, yes? Maybe don't think too hard about that. In this episode Tristan and Mick ponder yet again the coming Nickleback reckoning that all Canadians must one day endure. Mickey reminisces on the good old days of the east coast house scene in the 80s while Tristan tries to preemptively prevent Drake from suing us. Not today Drake! Mickey makes the mistake of bringing up Star Trek which segues, obviously, into Tristan discussing an essay he read about how earl grey tea is trash. Our beer picks this episode (7:10) had us checking out the Slow Hand Galaxy Pilsner and an exotic raspberry sour from Brewhall and we had a heck of a time with both of them. For album time with Tristan and Mick (22:54) we listened to -err- It's Album Time With Todd Terje, the nerdy as heck space disco fantasy from the Scandinavian DJ. Things took a turn for surreal and ridiculous paranoia for movie time (1:29:50), as we watched the 1988 John Carpenter cult classic They Live. We're here to to watch that never-ending fight scene and chew bubblegum; and we're all out of bubblegum. For new and noteworthy (2:12:48) we checked out stuff from Washed Out, Seu Jorge, Bully, and Khruangbin. For Three Questions (2:44:18) Micky busts out his hardest rapid fire yet and Tristan is still shaken. Find the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and right here.
