Hello friends and welcome to EP 45 of BORP! A quick note before getting into the preview. The turnaround time between recording, editing, and posting our episodes is not super fast, which is kind of the way we like it. As such, this episode was recorded before the racist murder of George Floyd sparked protests confronting police brutality and systemic racism around the globe, which is why there is no discussion of it. We look forward to sharing our thoughts on the issue in our next episode that we will be recording soon, however one of the many lessons to draw from what has happened in recent weeks is you shouldn't need a catalyst to confront racism, you should just do it all the time. For EP 45 we checked out some beers (6:06) from Wildeye Brewing and Off The Rail. Our album pick (27:20) was the synth noir blues experiment from Timber Timbre, Scincerly, Future Polution. We looked to modern westerns for our film pick (1:28:16) with Hell or High Water. For New and Noteworthy (2:10:02) we checked out some great tracks by Squirrel Flower, Park Hye Jin, Mint Julep, and Agar Agar. For Three Questions (2:36:32) Mick went with one theme for all of the questions and it's a miracle Tristan made it through the last one. Find the episode on Spotify or iTunes, search Beats On Repeat. Or find the show right here along with our other podcasts like Track and Food. You can also find our EP45 playlist on Spotify and Apple Music. Thanks for listening everyone!
